Inner Ear Media is a relatively small music weblog on which I try to connect bands and musicians with their fans and potential new fans. We receive a steady amount of visitors between the weblog and diverse other social media.
What can you find on Inner Ear Media? You can find in-depth CD reviews. Reviews, by definition, are not objective. They are opinions. My reviews are also opinions and I’m not trying to state my opinions as facts. I try to be honest in my reviews and remain openminded towards the music on the records I cover. Once in a while I will be harsh and take a record apart but for the most part you will find that my reviewing is constructive and positive. I try to explain why I’m excited about something or why I’m disappointed by something instead of just saying it. My reviews may be a bit long for some of you as I tend to go into a track-to-track mode for most of them. If you would rather go through the tracks yourself and just read the general opinion of the band and the record, just read the first part and last paragraph, which will cut the article in half. I know I can get carried away sometimes, so I won’t blame you for it.
You can also find interviews with musicians and bands. In the past, most of these interviews were conducted via e-mail or social media. Because this limits the conversation I started doing interviews vis-a-vis when artists and bands are in town, which is also why the format has changed. Instead of Q&As the interviews are now formatted as an article in which I can cover a more cohesive story and more related topics of conversation.
Inner Ear Media is also involved in internet promotion and in limited cases can offer its services as a sort of liaison between interested parties. If you’re a band or artist and would like to perform in the Netherlands or get in touch with people for coverage, we can be an intermediate to get you in touch with the right people. Because Inner Ear Media is a one-man-operation I can’t always guarantee success in this department but through the years I’ve built a decent network and in most cases I will be able to refer you to someone who will be able to help you, if I can’t myself.
I used to operate on a website (innerearmedia.net) but due to costs, limited time and logistic issues, the website has been taken down. I am currently working on a new website that is easier to maintain and leaves room for more interaction and involvement from visitors and collaborators, so check back for more on that soon!
If you have any ideas, suggestions, feedback or just want to check in, feel free to leave a comment on the blog or send me an e-mail. I will be happy to hear anything that can help me improve the weblog or make the experience more enjoyable. If you are a band, artist or representative and would like to request a review, interview or inquire, please send an e-mail to email@example.com
Thank you for visiting,
